To continuously practice the ESG principle of green and sustainable development and actively fulfill social responsibilities, LEAD Intelligent Equipment (LEAD) organized an ESG-themed environmental protection team-building activity during the 2024 new graduate onboarding training. This activity was designed to instill the concept of green and sustainable development deeply into the new generation of LEADers, marking the beginning of a new journey towards sustainability.
During the training session, nearly a hundred new LEADers stepped out of the office and into a community park. During their hike, they engaged in a volunteer activity that included picking up litter and cleaning debris on manhole covers after the rain. “Walking along the verdant paths, each time we bent down to pick up a piece of trash, it was a tribute to nature,” shared one of the participating LEADers. With litter grabbers and trash bags, LEADers delved into the underbrush and pathways, searching for plastic bottles, cigarette butts, and plastic wrappers left in the park. Together, they became stewards of the forest, experiencing the significance of environmental protection with real efforts.
During the indoor session of the training, the new LEADers were divided into two groups to brainstorm around sustainability concepts. They collaboratively designed and created a community model that embodied sustainable principles. From extensive green spaces and trees to office and residential areas featuring green building design, every detail reflected the LEADers’ vision and pursuit of a green home.
The special ESG-themed environmental protection team-building activity is a microcosm of LEAD’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainable development over the past two decades. In 2017, LEAD supported the education sector in Wuxi by establishing the 10 million RMB “Wang Yanqing Education Scholarship Fund” at Xishan High School in Jiangsu Province, encouraging more students to pursue their dreams and bring glory to the nation. From 2019 to 2020, LEAD provided educational support for several universities, including Harbin Institute of Technology, and established scholarships with annual donations exceeding 200,000 RMB. Since 2021, LEAD officially launched the “Wang Yanqing Scholarship” program, covering over 300 students from seven key universities, including Tsinghua University and Harbin Institute of Technology, with annual rewards exceeding 500,000 RMB. In 2024, LEAD renewed its commitment to aiding children in need by establishing a long-term support program for disadvantaged children in Yichuan County, Yan’an City, planting more hopes for the future of numerous students.
