On April 9, 2024, in Gladstone, Queensland, Australia, LEAD Intelligent celebrated the inauguration of the world’s first automated electrolysis cell factory, custom-built for the globally renowned mining and renewable energy company Fortescue. This pioneering facility is one of the first globally to feature automated assembly lines, capable of producing over 2GM of PEM electrolysis cells annually, significantly bolstering global clean energy production.
Positioned at the forefront of Australia’s new energy market, the successful commissioning of this groundbreaking automated electrolysis cell factory not only marks a significant milestone in Fortescue's domestic hydrogen energy strategy but also represents another achievement in LEAD Intelligent’s international expansion.
As early as 2023, LEAD Intelligent’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Hydrogen Intelligent, entered into a strategic partnership with Fortescue and remarkably completed the delivery of its independently developed PEM electrolysis cell assembly line within just four months. This project has become one of the largest single-order overseas projects secured by a Chinese company in the hydrogen energy sector to date. The newly operational PEM electrolysis cell assembly line incorporates several innovative technologies from Hydrogen Intelligent, significantly enhancing the speed and precision of fuel cell stacking, thereby achieving high performance levels in intelligent production lines.
